This was the Finale of Ardrella’s show at the Vauxhall Tavern Christmas 1987. Friends were recruited to take part with no rehearsal. Mary and Joseph, layer by Pat (the Landlord) and Breda McCpnnon (with Breda fearing excommunication). Lily’s appearance was quite a surprise as she had played no other part in the show. Here’s an advert we found from the early 1980’s which announces the re-opening of the Royal Vauxhall Tavern after ‘extensive re-docoration’. I wonder if this was when the bar was moved and the stage area added? Interesting to see mime and drag advertised as 7 days a week, including Sunday morning.
