Do you want to be part of the next generation of underground performance talent?
Duckie is launching it’s emerging artists programme called ‘The Youth Club’ with an 8 day intensive performance and cabaret Summer School with director Mark Whitelaw and filmmaker Tim Brunsden.
We will recruit 8 participants aged 18 – 25 and armed with the 150 year archive of the Royal Vauxhall Tavern, will create stunning ensemble performance for a short show to be presented at the RVT on Wednesday 16 July.
New performers are discovered and queer history is uncovered in this 8 day full time workshop programme and showcase. Forms investigated include a combination of performance art, popular cabaret, ensemble movement and drag.
Director Mark Whitelaw has directed all five of Duckie’s major commissions for the Barbican Theatre.
Participants have to commit to the full 8 days full time 10am – 6pm and are paid a fares and lunch bursary of £100 each. You will work everyday at the Battersea Arts Centre in Clapham Junction.
To apply to be part of this project email dicky@duckie.co.uk with a CV and one paragraph outlining your interest in this project. The deadline to apply is 5pm on Monday 19 May and decisions on the final team will be advised by Friday 23 May.
- Are you aged 18+?
